Anxiety

Anxiety is one of the most common reasons people seek hypnotherapy – and for good reason. While anxiety is a normal human response to stress, it can become overwhelming and exhausting when it doesn’t switch off. My goal is to help you gently retrain your mind to let go of excessive worry, fear, and tension, so you can feel calmer, clearer, and more in control.

What Does Anxiety Feel Like?

Anxiety can affect your thoughts, emotions, and body. You might feel:

  • Constant worry or nervousness
  • Racing thoughts or trouble concentrating
  • A tight chest, rapid heartbeat, or shortness of breath
  • Restlessness or trouble sleeping
  • Avoidance of certain people, places, or situations
  • A general sense that something is wrong – even when you can’t explain why

If any of this sounds familiar, you’re not alone – and help is available.

How Hypnotherapy Can Help

Hypnotherapy works by guiding you into a deeply relaxed state where your unconscious mind is more open to positive change. In this state, we can:

  • Gently reframe unhelpful thought patterns
  • Reduce your fight-or-flight response
  • Build confidence, calm, and emotional resilience
  • Address underlying triggers that may be fuelling your anxiety
  • Reconnect you with a sense of safety and inner control

Because hypnotherapy works with the unconscious mind, many clients find it faster and more direct than talk therapy alone.

Evidence-Based and Client-Focused

At Chameleon Hypnosis, I combine clinical hypnotherapy with counselling, psychotherapy, and cognitive behavioural techniques – offering a personalised and evidence-based approach to anxiety relief. Whether your anxiety is recent or long-term, generalised or linked to a specific issue (like public speaking, health, social situations or panic attacks), we’ll work together to find what works for you.

How long does it take?

I normally recommend a treatment plan of 4 to 6 one-hour sessions, spread over 8-10 weeks. This allows us the necessary time to utilise multiple approaches to help manage your anxiety. Although some people do experience instantaneous resolution, it is more common to make incremental progress as you learn new strategies, and your brain starts to create new neural pathways. Additionally, at least one session will focus on teaching self-hypnosis, to empower you with the skills you need to manage your anxiety (and any other problems you might face) on your own.

Online or In-Person Sessions

Appointments are available via Zoom across Australia, or in-person in South Australia at Integrative Health Solutions in Belair.
